Redwood Visual Design Update

Redwood Visual Design

Redwood is a new design system used by Oracle. It gives us a new look in the following areas: Login Page, Page Header, Home Dashboard, Form (Record) Page, and List Page.

For the time being this is an optional setting and is disabled by default. Just like theme colors, this is enabled at a user level.

Collapsible Field Groups on Record Pages

We will now have the ability to collapse field groups when viewing a record. This is independent of the Redwood Visual Design update and is enabled by default.

Tax Liability Payment in SuiteTax

New Functionality

NetSuite will calculate your total tax liabilities to different tax authorities per nexus. You will be able to pay this liability off by using the new tax liability payment record.

Previously, you would have to review the tax report to find your total liability to pay to each tax authority and pay it off via check or journal entry.

This new functionality allows for a separate record for payment of tax liabilities which automatically shows up on bank reconciliation.

Navigation: Transactions > Bank > Tax Liability Payment

Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) in Configuration Mode

NetSuite now allows users with a live environment to configure ARM without disrupting day-to-day operations.

Previously, source transactions would immediately flow through the ARM module without the opportunity to configure. The new functionality allows you to continue using legacy revenue recognition while ARM is being configured.

How to set it up:

  • Step 1 - ARM (Essentials) is Provisioned

    • ARM in Configuration Mode is available but greyed out

  • Step 2 - ARM (Essentials) is Enabled

    • ARM in Configuration Mode is enabled automatically

    • Users can configure ARM related setup

    • Users cannot use ARM to recognize revenue

  • Step 3 - Users Complete ARM Configurations

    • User disables ARM in Configuration Mode

    • ARM (Essentials) is live

    • Source transactions flow through ARM
